Industrial Bench & Floor Scales

Whether you are looking for a scale for simple weighing operations or for applications such as piece counting, filling or checkweighing, you have come to the right place. All scales are characterized by precise and fast measuring results, user-friendly operation and high-quality workmanship.

Bench and floor scales for industrial use are divided into compact scales which contain a display and evaluation unit on which the weighing results are displayed, as well as weighing platforms and floor scales, which are used for weighing, but are delivered without a display unit or associated weighing electronics. These can be connected directly to a PC or PLC system via a serial interface. The areas of application of bench and floor scales usually differ in the place of use and the maximum loads. The bench and floor scales are an elementary component for a variety of industries. Our scales are used in the pharmaceutical, food and chemical industry.

FAQ

Bench and floor scales for industrial use can be divided into different categories:

Industrial scales contain a terminal on which the weighing results are displayed, but Minebea also offers weighing platforms and floor scales, which are supplied without a terminal or associated electronics. They can be connected directly to a PC or PLC system via a serial interface. Industrial scales can be connected to various peripheral devices or other systems via various serial interfaces, RS 232, RS 485, fieldbus or Ethernet TCP/IP.

There are also scales that are suitable for special applications, such as the IU pallet scale, which can weigh pallets from 300 to 3000 kilograms. If precise weighing results are required, Minebea Intec has high-resolution scales in its range, such as the IS (Industry Supreme) weighing platform, with an extremely high resolution of up to 620,000 divisions, which gives it greater accuracy and minimizes product loss.

Floor scales of larger dimensions can be free-standing or built into the floor. Floor scales of large dimensions are especially suitable for applications where heavy loads of large volume must be weighed. If the application requires the lowest possible platform height, the IF scale model is also recommended. Due to its small height, the goods can be easily placed on the scale, for example using a forklift, without the need for installation in the floor. All bench and floor scales are also available as certified models and/or as versions with Ex certificates for use in explosive areas.

The areas of application of bench and floor scales usually differ according to the place of use and maximum loads.

Table scales are intended for use on counters and tables. Unlike permanently installed floor scales, they are more flexible and can be easily moved to other places within the production. Some bench scales are available with an internal rechargeable battery, so the devices can be used in another location without a power connection.

Minebea Intec bench and floor scales are a basic component for various industries. The most common areas of application of these devices are the pharmaceutical, food and chemical industries. In the pharmaceutical and food sectors, they are used for weighing, dosing and control of raw materials and individual components during production and finished products. Also, bench and floor scales are used in the chemical, logistics and agricultural industries, as well as for building materials, electronics and recycling.

Banch and floor scales can contain one (or more) measuring cells installed inside the scale. The sample to be weighed is placed on the scale and the weighing results can then be displayed on the attached weighing electronics (weighing indicator, weighing controller or sometimes weighing transmitters). The load cells are based on strain or electromagnetic force compensation (EMFC) technology. All Minebea Intec devices are characterized by short response, accuracy, reliability and flexibility.

The appropriate weighing electronics can be placed regardless of the location of the weighing platform or mounted on a pole and connected to peripheral devices or other systems via the various interfaces available.

Typical applications of bench and floor scales are basic: simple recording of mass values, piece counting (in the area of material management) or classification and control. In addition, scales such as the Signum industrial scale can also be used to check packaging. Applications such as automatic and manual dosing and filling, as well as manual formulation of recipes for making mixtures are also possible.

Bench and floor scales from Minebea Intec enable highly precise measurement results: the Signum Supreme industrial scale with EMFC measuring cell, for example, offers a resolution of up to 620,000 d. Precise measurement results improve production and thus reduce waste of the final product when quality is tested.

One of the basic features of each scale is its application, and depending on the requirements of the particular application, it is necessary to choose a scale with the appropriate capacity and division, in order to achieve the expected accuracy of the weighing results. In the pharmaceutical and food industries and in other industrial sectors, legally certified models are in demand, and Minebea Intec also offers a wide range of these models.

In addition to the maximum load and division, when floor and bench scales are used, the design, such as the materials of manufacture and the IP protection class, is an important indicator of the scale's robustness. For example Minebea Intec models are also available completely made of stainless steel and with protection classes such as IP69, which confirms that the product is dust-resistant and sufficiently protected against high-pressure cleaning with high-temperature water jets.

Hygienic design certificates are also important: especially in the pharmaceutical and food industries, where the purity of the final product or sterility plays a fundamental role. The above also enables quick and efficient cleaning, which is also reflected in lower costs: due to shorter cleaning time and less need for cleaning agents.
